Throat Chakra Candle

The Throat Chakra, or Vishuddha, translates to “very pure.” This is considered the fifth chakra, located in the throat. Its color correspondence is blue. The Throat Chakra resonates with self-expression and honest communication. This is the chakra to focus on if you are feeling withdrawn and aren’t able to speak from a place of truth. If you tend to speak too freely and openly, bordering on dictatorial or offensive, or if you tend to be a poor listener, your Throat Chakra may be overactive. This chakra influences the thyroid, neck, jaw, upper lungs, mouth, and throat.

Signs of Imbalance:

Being soft spoken and being uncomfortable with speaking up

Difficulty/lack of confidence sharing one’s opinions and views

Lacks creativity in expressing oneself, whether that be through music, art, writing, singing, etc.

Tendency to gossip, start or spread rumors, exaggerate, and lie

Stuttering or stumbling over words

Difficulty making decisions, often defers to others to make decisions for them

Tendency to conform to others

Jaw soreness or clenching, TMJ, grinds teeth

Thyroid imbalances

Lacks listening skills

Tends to dominate conversations, often interrupts and speaks over others

Inability to express one’s truth

Says things simply to please others

Uncomfortable with silence, feels the need to always chatter to fill the silence

Speaks without thinking

Uses their words as a form of violence or abuse inflicted on others

Avoids confrontation, would rather sweep things under the rug rather than discuss them

Deceitful or misleading with their words

Lack of integrity, doesn’t follow through with their word
